Adorable! When you see this little boy I’m sure that is the first word that comes to your mind. This is Samuel. Rachel Johnston commissioned us to create a portrait for Samuel’s first birthday. As most of you know, we usually suggest clothing that is solid as opposed to patterned and Rachel did a wonderful job selecting an outfit that brought out Sam’s eyes and skin tones. Sam did an awesome job posing for us too. Happy Birthday, Samuel!
When a mother-to-be commissions us to create a maternity portrait for her, we want that portrait to be more than just a portrait of mom’s belly. We want to bring out the beauty of that special time in her life. Brooke Melton recently gave us the opportunity to capture a time in her life that she will only have once - those few months of carrying her first baby. Thank you to Brooke and her husband, Dave for sharing this special event with us.
Connie and I are SO proud to be able to photograph this little girl! Her mom and dad, Stephanie and Clint, have been very special to us since we photographed their wedding a few years ago. This was one of my favorites from her 3 month session. I just loved the softness of this portrait.
Over the years, we have been privileged to photograph Hall’s brother Jack and his sister Cate Cannon. Well, this time it was Hall’s turn. There were a number of beautiful images, but I think this one says something special. Congratulations to Amy and Nelson Cunningham!

I’m finding that blogging is a great way to update our clients and friends with new and exciting things we have here at the studio.
One of those things is Connie’s “Oil Impressions”. Connie takes the “exactness” of our photographs and through the use of a computer, free-hand paints the entire image with various brushes and art mediums. With this unique technique, Connie can combine oils, acylics, pastels, chalks and more in one portrait. All this while still keeping the “exactness” of photography in the subject’s face.
At it’s simplest level, Connie now has a method of enhancing photographic portraits with hand-applied artistic touches, resulting in timeless portraits indistinguishable from oil paintings costing thousands.
